Vacherot entered the tournament as an alternate player and secured a spot in the main draw for the first time in his career.
He made history by becoming only the fifth man to win his first ATP title in a Masters 1000 level, following Jakub Mensik.
Notably, Vacherot beat the 24-time Grand Slam champion, Novak Djokovic, in the semifinals en route to his successful run.
