Sweden has begun implementing the new EES biometric border checks for non-EU travelers arriving from outside the Schengen Area.
All non-EU travelers will be fingerprinted at border control and photographed as part of the Entry and Exit System (EES).
The EES has been in development for over 12 years and has faced numerous delays, but it finally came into effect on Sunday.
