Changes in the Cabinet
Opposition Leader Sussan Ley has made changes to her cabinet, appointing Jonathon Duniam as the new shadow minister for home affairs, replacing Andrew Hastie.
Hastie's decision to quit the frontbench was due to being excluded from the formulation of immigration policy. This change comes only a month after Ley was forced to make previous changes, including removing Jacinta Nampijinpa Price from the frontbench.
- Julian Leeser will replace Duniam as spokesman on education and early learning, while continuing as shadow minister for the arts.
- Andrew Wallace will become the new shadow attorney-general, bringing his experience as a barrister in construction law.
No comment from Hastie on his exclusion from immigration policy formulation.
