Poland Spring's Response to Maine's Drought
As Maine faces a severe drought with minimal rainfall and hundreds of dry wells, concerns about water conservation are on the rise.
The Maine Department of Environmental Protection requires companies with significant groundwater wells to monitor water levels closely and reduce or halt pumping if levels drop too low.
According to the DEP, no water bottling operations have been mandated to reduce or stop withdrawals during this drought.
Poland Spring says it’s already made cutbacks on its own.
