'Bittersweet decision': Family-run County Limerick business to close its doors after half a century

Family-Run Business to Close After Half a Century

A popular family-run business, Marguerite's Bakery and Restaurant, based in Newcastle West, has announced its closure after over 50 years of operation.

After more than five wonderful decades, our family has made the bittersweet decision to retire and bring our bakery and restaurant chapter to a close on 31st December 2025.

The Condon family, who run the business, stated that their parents began the journey in the late 1960s with a simple aim: to bake quality breads, cakes, and confectionery, and to serve honest, delicious food made with care.

The family has been honoured to become part of many family milestones over the years.
