New Italian Apostolate Coordinator Aims to Encourage Culture, Faith in the Diocese of Brooklyn

Father Nicholas Colalella has been appointed as the coordinator for the Italian Apostolate of the Diocese of Brooklyn, leveraging his Italian skills in this new role.

Originally from Middle Village, Queens, Father Colalella is currently the parochial vicar for Our Lady of Hope Church and part-time chaplain at Archbishop Molloy High School in Briarwood, Queens.

His educational background includes formation at Cathedral College of the Immaculate Conception in Douglaston, the Pontifical North American College in Rome, and the Catholic University in Washington, D.C.

He could have been a linguist or a full-time lecturer on ancient languages like Greek, Latin, and Aramaic, if he hadn’t pursued the priesthood.

Throughout his formation, Father Colalella has pursued knowledge of other languages, including Italian, which will be essential in his new role as coordinator for the Italian Apostolate.
