Norwegian Leaders on Middle East Peace
Norwegian leaders, including Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide, attended the signing of a peace agreement between Israel and Hamas in Egypt.
Both leaders have spent decades working towards peace in the Middle East and hope that US President Donald Trump's deal will be binding.
"The absence of killing isn’t the same as peace,"
Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide stated, emphasizing that much work remains to be done to resolve the Gaza conflict and the underlying Israel-Palestine conflict.
