Over 400 jobs at Roberts Bakery have been saved thanks to a rescue deal with Boparan Private Office.
A pre-pack deal for an undisclosed fee has been made, with private investment firm Boparan Private Office, owned by entrepreneur Ranjit Singh Boparan, creating a new company, Roberts Bakery 1887 Ltd.
The deal safeguards 433 jobs across two sites and comes after the fourth-generation family business, Frank Roberts & Son Ltd, filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators just over a week ago.
The company produces bread under the Roberts Bakery brand, as well as speciality bread and sweet treats for supermarkets, coffee shops, and more.
No comment from the company or Boparan Private Office is available at this time.
