Federal prosecutors in Maryland are preparing to ask a grand jury to indict John Bolton, President Donald Trump's former advisor, on Thursday.
According to ABC News, the indictment is related to the alleged mishandling of classified documents, which were discovered during an FBI raid of Bolton's office on August 22.
The documents found include information on weapons of mass destruction, the US mission to the United Nations, and the government's strategic communications.
Bolton served as National Security Adviser during Trump's first term from 2018 to 2019.
No comment from Bolton or the White House has been released.
