President Ramaphosa Suspends Inspector-General of Intelligence
President Cyril Ramaphosa has suspended the Inspector-General of Intelligence, Mr Imtiaz Fazel, pending an investigation by Parliament’s Joint Standing Committee on Intelligence (JSCI) into his conduct.
Mr Fazel has been suspended with immediate effect, as stated by Vincent Magwenya, Spokesperson to the President, on 15 October 2025.
The suspension is pending a decision in the JSCI investigation.
