Competition is on as Lucky continues to lead
Bryon Ehrhart's Lucky (USA) leads the Sydney to Auckland Ocean Race, sailing at up to 20 knots across the Tasman Sea, with approximately 1022 nautical miles to Auckland.
"We're currently doing 18-20 knots in 15 knots of wind with a FRO (Fractional Code 0), J4 and a full main up. Beautiful sailing conditions."
Jono Rankine said from Lucky. Antipodes (Hong Kong) and Frantic (NSW) are battling for line honours and overall title, with Antipodes currently 8 miles ahead of Frantic.
"We cannot see Frantic anymore,"
said Brad Kellett, Antipodes navigator, describing their first night at sea and morning.
