Temperature Records Shattered in Multiple Vancouver Island Towns

A significant drop in thermometer readings has resulted in record-breaking temperatures in several Vancouver Island towns.

According to Environment Canada, 23 communities in British Columbia experienced record-low temperatures, with 14 of them being in Qualicum Beach, which set a new record of -1 C on October 14. The previous record of -0.5 C was set in 1992.

In contrast, Fort Nelson experienced a new warm temperature record of 19.4 C, surpassing the previous mark of 19 C set in 1937.
