Suspect Arrested After Shooting in West Union
Law enforcement officers responded to a reported shooting on Saturday afternoon in West Union.
According to authorities, Adams County Dispatch received several 911 calls at approximately 4:07 p.m. on October 11, 2025, regarding a possible shooting in the parking lot of the Dollar Tree store.
- West Union Police Department officers were dispatched immediately.
- Units from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office and Chief Baker of the Peebles Police Department also responded.
The suspect, identified as Dakota E. Adamson, 29, of West Union, was quickly located by responding officers and taken into custody without incident.
Adamson was booked into the Adams County Jail, while the victim, Harris, 41, of Chillicothe, was transported to the Adams County Regional Medical Center for treatment.
