EU Unveils Defence Roadmap
The European Commission and the High Representative have presented a new 'Defence Roadmap' to enhance defence capabilities across Europe.
The 'Preserving Peace - Defence Readiness Roadmap 2030' builds on the ReArm Europe Plan/Readiness 2030 and includes specific goals and timelines to address existing capability gaps and promote increased defence spending among Member States.
The plan aims to direct the EU towards achieving full defence readiness by 2030 and reinforces Europe's defence posture, aligning with continued support for Ukraine.
This initiative is a response to a request made by the European Council in June 2025.
