A Big Win for Local Democracy in Calgary
All 14 wards in Calgary have now had election debates, with The Sprawl recording and livestreaming forums in every single ward.
Asad Chishti and the author organized and ran four debates themselves, with 16 out of 20 candidates attending the last-ditch debates.
These candidates came from across the political spectrum, including independents and candidates from A Better Calgary Party, Communities First, and The Calgary Party.
I applaud each and every one of these candidates for making time to gather like this in the final week of the campaign.
