SHC Preview: Dermody Hopes to Lead Ratoath to Back-to-Back Titles

Defending champions Ratoath are on the verge of winning their second consecutive SHC title in 2025 as they face Kiltale this Sunday.

Andy Dermody, the team's manager and a native of Westmeath, has had a successful first year in charge of Ratoath. In an interview with the Meath Chronicle, Dermody discussed the team's progress.

"The first few months were tough, we had plenty of lads in with county teams and we didn't really know what we had. Even the first game of the championship, Daithi McGowan was in with Meath footballers for that semi-final on the Sunday and we had our first round on the Monday. We got over the line that day against Kiltale and we have steadily improved."

Ratoath ended a 60-year wait for an SHC title last year and are now looking to make it two in a row.

Author's summary: Ratoath aims for back-to-back SHC titles under Dermody's guidance.
