British Grandma Freed from Indonesian Death Row

Lindsay Sandiford, a 69-year-old British grandmother, has been released from Indonesian death row after 12 years.

Sandiford was arrested in Bali on May 19, 2012, with a significant amount of cocaine found in her luggage. She claimed she was forced to carry the drugs by a gang that threatened her sons.

Despite her appeals, she was sentenced to death by firing squad on January 22, 2013, and sent to Kerobokan Prison. However, an agreement between the UK and Indonesian governments secured her release.

She said she was getting a 'second chance' at life and was looking forward to returning to her family.

A worrying health update has been issued about Sandiford since her release.
