Thailand's Queen Mother Sirikit Passes Away
Thailand's Queen Mother Sirikit has died at the age of 93.
Despite being overshadowed by her late husband, King Bhumibol Adulyadej, and her son, King Maha Vajiralongkorn, Sirikit was a beloved and influential figure in her own right.

The Royal Household Bureau announced that she passed away in a hospital in Bangkok, where she had been receiving treatment for a blood infection.
Sirikit had been largely absent from public life in recent years due to declining health, but her portrait remained a ubiquitous presence in homes, offices, and public spaces across Thailand.
Her birthday, August 12, was celebrated as Mother's Day, and she was visited by her son and other royals at Chulalongkorn Hospital, where she was receiving long-term care.
Her legacy continues to be felt in Thailand, where she was a revered figure.
