Alumni Urge Ohio University to Reinstate Suspended Professor Thomas Hayes
Alumni of Ohio University are rallying behind Professor Thomas Hayes, who was suspended from his post after joining an aid flotilla to Gaza.
A letter signed by over 150 former professors and graduates of the university's film and theater programs was sent to President Lori Stewart Gonzalez, urging her to "do the right thing, and reinstate Tom Hayes immediately as the instructor of The Art of Editing."
Hayes was detained by the Israeli military after they intercepted the flotilla in international waters. The university suspended him for changing his class to a virtual format during the semester, violating the faculty handbook.
