How is UW supporting job seekers with disabilities?

Support for Job Seekers with Disabilities at UW

As students across Canada enter the challenging job market, youth with disabilities face significant hurdles.

Youth employment, currently at 54 per cent, has not been this low since 1999, excluding peak pandemic years.

“It’s pretty grim out there right now,” said Vanessa Sinclair, director of research and evaluation at the Canadian Council on Rehabilitation and Work (CCRW).

The CCRW notes that students and recent graduates with disabilities, representing 20 per cent of the country’s youth, experience higher unemployment rates despite increased attendance in post-secondary education.
