Michael Clark Murder Defense Seeks to Link Case to JonBenét Investigation 'Mistakes'
Michael Clark, facing a retrial for a 1994 murder, is seeking documents that link his case with the infamous 1996 JonBenét Ramsey investigation.
In new legal filings, Clark's defense team is attempting to link alleged Boulder police missteps in his case with the city's most notorious cold case: JonBenét Ramsey.
The claim is part of a larger effort to gather documents and information connected to the Clark case in advance of his scheduled 2026 retrial on charges in the killing of Marty Grisham.
Clark was convicted in 2012 and sentenced to life without parole for Grisham's murder, but he has maintained his innocence for over 30 years.
The case was originally unsolved for 17 years, but was resurrected due to later DNA analysis and testimony from forensic scientist Yvonne Woods, whose credibility has since been discredited.
Clark's defense team has submitted 12 subpoenas to Boulder authorities seeking documents and information connected to the case.
