MyForest Foods, a New York-based company, has launched its mycelium-based bacon and pulled pork products nationwide at Whole Foods Market in the US, increasing its presence to over 2,500 locations.

The expansion comes as the alternative meat market experiences a decline, with US retail sales falling 10.2% year over year to $70 million in September 2025, according to Circana data analyzed by 210 Analytics.

“We are finally de-bottle-necking on supply, and growing like crazy,” said cofounder Eben Bayer.

Despite the market slowdown, MyForest Foods continues to grow, with its products delivering satisfaction in flavor and texture, helping to keep the category afloat.
