Thousands of international students studying in Hungary may face tightened scholarship contracts following the recent scandal at ELTE.
A lecture by Alexander Yakobson, a historian from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, was disrupted on 16 October, leading to a suspension of his lecture series titled "Diverzitás és demokrácia az izraeli társadalomban".
Some students attending the first session appeared wearing keffiyehs and proceeded to shout that the lecture was political propaganda supporting Israeli genocide.
The incident prompted two ministers and the university rector to demand accountability, and only two of the three scheduled sessions could be attended online due to the disruption.
