Theoretical physicist and best-selling author Carlo Rovelli finds inspiration in politics and philosophy to rethink space and time.
Rovelli explains his perspective:
“This is very radical, because you can no longer say, ‘This is a list of things in the world, and this is how they are.’”
He illustrates his point using the example of pigeons, which bob their heads to stabilize their vision and gauge distances to objects, demonstrating that
“It’s all perspectival”.
Rovelli, affiliated with Aix-Marseille University, studies how we perceive reality from our limited vantage point.
