Japan Firm Flooded with Orders After PM Takaichi's Handbag Goes Viral

A 145-year-old Japanese company is receiving an overwhelming number of orders for a handbag after it was spotted being used by Prime Minister Takaichi.

The handbag, priced at 136,000 yen (US$895), has gone viral online, sparking a flood of orders to the manufacturer based in Nagano, central Japan.

The bag is designed to "balance elegance with practicality"

Despite being made entirely of leather, the bag weighs only 700 grams (1.5lbs). The company, Hamano, is struggling to keep up with demand, with shipments delayed until the end of April.

The company has apologized for the delay in responding to inquiries, according to its website.
