An inquest has been opened into the death of Jihad Al-Shamie, the terrorist who attacked the Manchester synagogue on October 2.
Al-Shamie, 35, a Syrian-born UK citizen from Prestwich, died from multiple gunshot wounds after aggressively approaching armed police while carrying a knife and wearing a suspected suicide belt.
The inquest, which was opened and adjourned at Manchester Coroner’s Court, will investigate the circumstances surrounding Al-Shamie's death.
