Hundreds of garment-factory workers marched through Maseru, demanding government action to save Lesotho's textile industry amid uncertainty over the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) renewal.
The march, initially banned, proceeded after the police minister gave permission. Protesters held signs calling for the AGOA trade agreement with the US to be saved, allowing duty-free exports of Lesotho-made garments to the American market.
