Teacher Recounts Terrifying Experience of Being Shot by 6-Year-Old Student
Abigail Zwerner, a former Virginia teacher, testified in court about the traumatic incident where she was shot by a 6-year-old student.
Zwerner recalled the event, which occurred on January 6, 2023, at Richneck Elementary in Newport News, Virginia, stating
"I thought I was dying, I thought I had died,"and
"I thought I was on my way to heaven or in heaven. But then it all got black."
Zwerner's testimony is part of her $40 million lawsuit against former Richneck Elementary assistant principal Ebony Parker, who allegedly ignored warnings about the boy who shot Zwerner.
