Fears Grow for Thousands Trapped in Sudan's El-Fasher
Fears are increasing for thousands of people trapped in Sudan's el-Fasher city as only a few thousand have managed to escape the atrocities committed by Sudan's paramilitary forces.
An aid group reports that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) took control of the western Darfur region last week, ousting the Sudanese army. There have been reports and videos of RSF atrocities against civilians, including:
- Beatings
- Killings
- Sexual assaults
A migration agency believes that tens of thousands of people have fled el-Fasher, but less than 6,000 have reached the nearest humanitarian camp in Tawila.
