A medieval tower near the Roman Forum in Rome has partially collapsed during renovation work, severely injuring one worker and trapping another.
According to authorities, the incident occurred on Monday, with hundreds of tourists witnessing the rescue efforts. Firefighters used a mobile ladder to reach the upper level of the Torre dei Conti to rescue the trapped worker.
Firefighter spokesman Luca Cari confirmed that one worker remained trapped hours after the initial collapse.
