Amidst dwindling donor funding in the health sector, integration of services remains crucial to ensuring that the progress made in the fight against HIV is not reversed, according to Douglas Bosire, acting CEO of the National Syndemic Disease Control Council (NSDCC).
Bosire made this statement during the Africa Health Systems Forum 2025 in Nairobi, Kenya, which was themed 'The Case for Sustainable Health Financing and Africa's Way Forward.'
The stop order implemented by the United States (US) government in early 2025 nearly threatened this progress.
Besides the Global Fund, the US is the second largest contributor to HIV funding in Kenya.
