Dr. Heather Parsons to Lead Fred Hutch's Breast Cancer Initiatives
Medical oncologist Dr. Heather Parsons, MD, MPH, has joined Fred Hutch Cancer Center as program head of the Breast Oncology Program.
Her motivation to specialize in oncology, specifically breast cancer treatment and research, stems from her personal experience.
Her younger sister was diagnosed with lymphoma as a young adult, and later with melanoma in childhood.
Parsons witnessed the impact of cancer on the entire family and understands what patients and their loved ones go through during treatment. She aims to improve this experience for patients and their families.
As program head, Parsons will utilize her expertise to lead Fred Hutch's breast cancer initiatives, building on her desire to make a positive impact on the lives of those affected by cancer.
