REVIEW – 1980s feelgood feast Rock of Ages raises the roof at Kidderminster’s Rose Theatre

Rock of Ages Review

Rock of Ages at Kidderminster's Rose Theatre is a 1980s feelgood feast that raises the roof with plenty of 1980s classics and ballads.

The story is set in Los Angeles in 1987, on Sunset Strip, and centers around the 'Bourbon Club', which is under threat from more wholesome development.

The production team, including director Alex Thompson, musical director Russell Painter, and choreographer Emily Hamer, have done a fantastic job of casting and directing the show.

The story centres on Los Angeles in 1987, Sunset Strip and the ‘Bourbon Club’ which – although the beating heart of the area – is under threat from ‘more wholesome; development meaning all those loud guitars, dreams and feelgood factor could all be lost.

Kudos to the team for a fantastic production that brings the feelgood factor and sends up the musical genre, Hollywood movies and more.

Author's summary: Rock of Ages is a fun musical production.
