Diocese of Lexington Launches Net-Zero Plan Inspired by Laudato Si’

The Diocese of Lexington has developed an ambitious plan to make all of its buildings net-zero by 2030, inspired by Pope Francis' 2015 encyclical Laudato Si’ ("On Care for Our Common Home").

The plan includes all buildings of the 59 parishes in the diocese, spanning over 50 counties in central and eastern Kentucky, and is a direct response to the Pope's call to engage in dialogue about the future of the planet.

The earth and all in it belongs to God.

This initiative is part of a larger movement, as dioceses and archdioceses across the country have implemented ways to live out Pope Francis' call to action since the encyclical was published.

Author's summary: Diocese of Lexington aims for net-zero by 2030.
