Jim Belanger Settles into New Role in Ottawa
MP Jim Belanger recently spoke from his Ottawa office about the significant changes 2025 has brought to his life, acknowledging the responsibility that comes with the trust voters have placed in him.
On April 28, the Belanger family and supporters gathered at a Chelmsford sports bar to watch the election results. As the tide turned in his favor, emotions rose, and celebration ensued as the gap widened, with cheers of "Jim!" and hugs as it became clear he had won the vote.
This was a significant upset, as the riding had long been a Liberal or NDP stronghold, with Marc Serre holding the seat for the Liberals since 2015. Many had thought a Conservative had little hope of winning, but Belanger's campaign had made a strong showing, particularly in the "sign war" across the region.
