Indonesian authorities have found traces of radioactivity at a clove farm on Sumatra island, according to a government spokesperson.
The investigation was expanded after the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) detected Cesium-137 contamination in spices from Indonesia, including a sample of cloves from PT Natural Java Spice.
The government had banned the farm from selling its cloves as a preventive measure.
A task force spokesperson, Bara Hasibuan, stated that inspection teams were sent to facilities and farms, and traces of radioactivity were only found at the clove farm in Lampung, Sumatra.
