Obituary: Carol Carnes Dwyer
Carol Carnes Dwyer of Hingham, MA, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025.
She was born to Margaret (Osborn) and E. She grew up in Hingham Centre and attended the Centre School.
She met her husband of 67 years in their freshman year at Archbishop Williams High School, where they were members of the first graduating class of 1953.
She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree at The College of New Rochelle in NY and then worked as a Social Worker in NYC until starting her family.
While her children were still young, she started taking classes and went back to work, eventually earning a master’s degree.
She worked for the Hingham Public Schools for over 25 years, first in Special Education, then as a Guidance Counselor.
