Unmanned Black Hawk Unveiled by United States
The United States has unveiled an unmanned version of the Black Hawk helicopter, the UH-60L, at the Association of the United States Army's AUSA 2025 show.
Features of the U-Hawk
The S-70UAS U-Hawk features a loading platform with hinged doors in the front of the fuselage, and the absence of a cockpit has increased cargo volume by 25%.
- Uses the Matrix control system for crewless flight
- Can stay in the air for up to 14 hours without refueling
- Has a range of approximately three thousand kilometers
The manufacturer can quickly and on a large scale convert conventional helicopters into drones - Rich Benton, Sikorsky vice president
The U-Hawk can be used to carry various cargoes and launch small drones, and was developed in just ten months.
