Arkansas and interim coach Bobby Petrino are familiar with Texas A&M's second-year offensive coordinator Collin Klein, a former Kansas State quarterback.
Klein was the Big 12 offensive player of the year in 2012, with 2,641 passing yards, 920 rushing yards, and 39 combined touchdowns. He finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting behind winner Johnny Manziel.
"I always thought he was a heck of a runner with the football,"
Petrino said, recalling Klein's playing days. Petrino noted that Klein was likely one of the first quarterbacks to utilize designed runs, making it tough for defenses with an extra blocker.
