Hundreds of jobs are to be cut from Fortescue's battery-making arm, Fortescue Zero.
The decision comes after the miner chose to manufacture batteries for its haul trucks in China instead.
Fortescue had previously planned to produce the batteries itself, but has now opted to outsource production to China.
