A Limerick businessman has expressed concerns about the future of his business after council officials removed a parklet from outside his premises without warning.
Jono Crute, owner of Crew Brew in Limerick City, arrived at his premises on Thomas Street to find council workers removing the build-out, which was installed during the Covid-19 pandemic to encourage outdoor dining and drinking.
"It represents about 25% of our revenue, the people sitting outside."
Mr. Crute has run the craft beer bar since September 2020 and believes the parklet has become vital to his trade.
