Young environmental leaders from the Frontenac Arch Biosphere region will gather at the Benson Centre on November 4 for the fifth annual Youth Climate Action Summit.
The event, hosted by the Frontenac Arch Biosphere Network, City of Cornwall, and The River Institute, empowers youth aged 14-18 to develop Climate Action Plans for their schools and communities.
Ojistoh Horn will deliver the keynote, “Local Action for the Health of the Planet,” blending Indigenous knowledge and practical solutions.
A local organic lunch will be catered by Cornerstone Organics, who will also lead a sustainable farming workshop. The afternoon includes 18 workshops, from water quality testing to growing fruits and nuts from seed, with several offered in both English and French.
A new entrepreneurship panel will spotlight local green businesses. Attendees can apply for up to $500 in seed funding to launch their projects.
