NHL Rumors: Lane Hutson and Montreal Canadiens Influenced By Connor McDavid Extension

Many speculated that recent contracts signed by Luke Hughes and Jackson LaCombe would influence Hutson's negotiations. However, according to Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun, the contract signed by Connor McDavid had a significant impact on both Hutson and the Canadiens' management.
Pierre LeBrun told Gino Reda on TSN's That's Hockey: "it was the contract signed by Connor McDavid that really influenced not only Hutson, but also Canadiens management in sticking with their plan and salary structure to keep the team competitive moving forward.
Gino Reda noted: "Pierre, I get the fact that it’s big money, but it certainly seems to be a team-friendly contract.
