Cover Story: A Tweedy Family Affair

In 2020, during the COVID shutdowns, Jeff, Spencer, and Sammy Tweedy embarked on a road trip from Chicago to Yonkers. Their mission was to retrieve Sammy's belongings from his rented room near Sarah Lawrence College, which had been closed.
During their journey, around 2 AM, Jeff suggested listening to the Clash's fourth record, Sandinista!. He asked his sons, "Have you guys ever listened to Sandinista!?" and proposed, "if there's ever an opportunity to listen to Sandinista!, let's do it." This was the first time Jeff had listened to the record all the way through in about forty years.
“Have you guys ever listened to Sandinista!?” ... “if there’s ever an opportunity to listen to Sandinista!, let’s do it.”
This experience would later influence their own music, creating songs that are "excessive and luxuriate in an artist's idea of a world."
