The constitution nobody wanted

The Unwanted Constitution

Québec Premier François Legault has introduced a draft constitution for the province in the legislature, despite the fact that Canadian provinces are not supposed to have individual constitutions.

.

Legault is using the proposed constitution to gain right-leaning nationalist support ahead of the 2026 provincial election, claiming it will

affirm Québec's national character
, but it is seen as a political move.
