The Thanksgiving weekend, one of the busiest travel periods of the year, is expected to be impacted by unfavorable weather conditions.
A rainfall warning has been issued by Environment Canada for a significant portion of the province, from Indian Head in the south to areas north of La Ronge, with the system expected to stay east of Saskatoon.
The heaviest rainfall is anticipated to be highly localized in an area from north of Regina to Nipawan, with rainfall totals expected to reach 50 to 60 mm in warned areas and 30 to 40 mm in surrounding areas, including Regina.
Rain will precede a transition to snow later in the evening, tapering off by Monday morning, with strong winds gusting 60 to 80 km/h expected to develop in the afternoon, potentially making travel difficult due to rapidly accumulating snow.
...it appears Mother Nature won’t be cooperating.
