Awaab's Law Comes Into Force
Social housing landlords must comply with Awaab's Law, responding to property issues more effectively.
- Investigate hazards within 10 working days
- Provide written findings within three working days
- Take action to make homes safe within five working days, or 24 hours in emergencies
- Begin further required works within five working days if a significant hazard is found
Private landlords will be subject to Awaab's Law from 2026.
