Terumo Completes Acquisition of OrganOx
OrganOx announced the completion of its acquisition by Terumo, valued at approximately $1.5 billion.
The deal makes OrganOx a wholly owned subsidiary of Terumo, following an agreement in August.
- Terumo Ventures previously took part in a $142 million fundraising round in March.
- This acquisition marks the second major deal for an organ preservation technology company in the last year.
Normothermic machine perfusion (NMP) and ex-vivo machine perfusion (EVMP) technologies preserve organs longer by circulating oxygen and nutrient-rich perfusate.
OrganOx, a University of Oxford spinoff, specializes in NMP, enabling real-time monitoring of organ condition during storage and transport.
