31 Days of Frights: Wishmaster
We continue the 31 Days of Frights with Wishmaster from 1997. A gemologist (Tammy Lauren) unwittingly frees an evil genie (Andrew Divoff) that plays deadly tricks on her friends and acquaintances.
Wishmaster is a fun concept, warning us to be careful what we wish for. Each granted wish is twisted into a horrific scenario. The Djinn is not a friend.
The movie was directed by Robert Kurtzman, who previously worked on From Dusk Till Dawn, The Exorcist 3, and Nightmare on Elm Street 3. The main character, Alex (Tammy Lauren), releases the Djinn and must make three wishes for him to take over the world.
