Komatsu Shuts Down Elliot Lake Facility

Komatsu has permanently closed its facility on Roger Lane in Elliot Lake, moving local operations to Sudbury.

The closure, which took effect on October 30, affects many of the facility's 45 employees.

Komatsu is aligning and strengthening its underground hard rock business by centralizing manufacturing and service operations at its Sudbury, Ontario facilities.

According to Mason Raube, manager of public relations, some employees will remain employed with Komatsu, while others will be impacted by the closure.
